Mehul Bhatt is an experienced leader, managing director and strategist and non-executive director. He has worked in 3 continents and led teams and P&Ls in Europe, Africa & Asia. Specific expertise is change management, turnaround, transformations and being a non-executive director. His functional expertise lies within logistics, shipping and supply chain management.
He has an MBA from London Business School, which he pursued as a Danish Maritime Fund scholar.
Mehul Bhatt has been a director in the company since 2016.
On the personal side, he is a keen world traveller, adventure seeker and reader. He is married, has two daughters and currently resides in Mauritius.
Mr Kirti Shah is a pioneer in the logistics business in Kenya and remains the founder of General Cargo Services Limted. He started the company in 1976 mostly moving general cargo between Mombasa and Nairobi. Soon the company forayed into warehousing and became the largest private warehousing firm in Kenya. Over the years, the company developed multiple lines of businesses including freight forwarding, air freight clearance, trucking and yard activities. With his foresight, the company became one of the first companies to get the ‘green-channel’ certification from Kenya Revenue Authorities. To ensure long term viability and growth of the company, Mr Kirti partnered with Velogic and Kibo Capital Partners in 2015.
Mr Kirti has always believed in providing top customer services to high quality customers and growing the business as the customers grow and as the customers become advocates of General Cargo. Mr Kirti remains active in the business as a mentor and director in the company.
General Cargo Services has consistently been a top rated company in Kenya Top 100 mid-sized companies since 2012.
Vishal holds an MBA majoring in Finance and an MSc in Engineering. Since joining Rogers Group in 1993, he has worked in various positions, namely in the Service Planning & Development department, the Aviation and Logistics sectors, Enterprise Information Solutions and as Corporate Manager – Strategic Planning at the Head Office. Vishal was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Velogic in July 2011.
Thierry holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Finance from Paris IX-Dauphine University in France and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in England and Wales in 1993. He started his career in investment banking in London at Flemings and later joined Blakeney Management, a London-based investment boutique, focusing on Africa and the Middle East. Thierry later moved back to Mauritius and co-founded Kibo Capital Partners in 2007 with Jean-Pierre Dalais in a venture with CIEL Limited to pursue his belief that Africa offers attractive opportunities for private equity.
Currently Christoph is a partner at Kibo Capital Partners, prior to this Christoph was Vice President at DEG/KfW Group, where he structured and managed equity and mezzanine investments across Africa. He previously worked in M&A Corporate Finance for Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan, where he held several positions. He holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University, USA, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Basle, Switzerland. In 2001, Christoph co-founded Vistage Germany, a business in the services industry, working closely with CEOs of mid-sized corporations.
Naveen is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). He also holds an MBA – Finance and a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Computing. Naveen, who joined Velogic in 2009, has a rich accounting and finance experience at international level. He was appointed Chief Finance Officer, effective since May 2011.
