GCS Leadership Management Program

GCS has a Logistics Management Program, tailored to Logistics, whose main objective is to provide an in-depth, interdisciplinary training opportunity to recent high potential university graduates. The objective is to have the graduates do rotations in the core business functions, identify a perfect fit, and have them absorbed into the function. This is our way of increasing capacity and promoting talent development.

The program also has a well-set up course work schedule for the graduates to get in-depth understanding of the logistics business. The course work schedule has logistics modules built-up for easy reading and comprehension. This is fully sponsored by the organization.

Why Graduates would want to be part of the Program

At GCS we believe in career growth and personal development. In addition, we have a strong performance culture that is a foundation of this program.
For graduates going out into the world, the right start is crucial for clear exploration, establishment and growth in the career path. The GCS Logistics Management Programme provides a firm foundation for functional, managerial skills and business awareness development in the logistics industry.
The rotations in the business involve real opportunities, in a real full-time job in our Commercial, Operations, Technology and Finance functions. Each of these works differently yet they all come together for the success of GCS. The graduates will get an opportunity to find their best fit and secure their leadership track within GCS. The expectation will be to fully unlock potential, embrace challenges and deliver excellent results.

STORIES

Faith Rotich

The GLMP programme was an excellent opportunity that launched my career in the logistics and supply chain sector. I gained a wealth of experience from working closely with industry leaders. It inspired me to upskill and since then I have delved into supply chain process improvement and became a Certified Supply Chain Analyst. I am currently preparing to commence an MSc in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Being part of the programme was transformative in the best way and for that I am sincerely grateful.

It’s a pleasure to hear that the GLMP programme continues to flourish, and I’m glad to share an update on my career progression since completing the programme.

As part of the GLMP, I had the opportunity to rotate through all departments within the company, gaining a broad understanding of the industry and its operations. This diverse exposure, especially in handling import documentation like letters of credit, has been crucial in shaping my career. Now, as a Credit Analyst, I use the knowledge and insights from the programme to assess the creditworthiness of applicants for letters of credit and other credit instruments.

The well- rounded experience from the GLMP has greatly improved my ability to handle credit analysis, allowing me to approach my role with a better perspective. I would like to give special thanks to Mr.

Priyeen Jethwa, who continued to mentor me when I joined the Sales department after the programme. His passion for sales and business development was truly inspiring and valuable.

Thank you once again for the invaluable opportunity to be part of the GLMP. I look forward to hearing about the programme’s continued success.

Thank you.
