Hitesh Kara has deep knowledge and skill in Customs, Port & Transportation procedures and operations. He joined General Cargo Services to head the operations section. He is responsible for overall day-to-day tactical logistics operations support which involves interaction and coordination between multiple functional groups working to support Customs clearance, Port procedure & transportation operations. Hitesh is providing operational excellence, delivering superior customer service and focusing on continuous improvement and turn-around growth.
He brings professional experience in Customs, Port & Transportation procedures and operations, and over the last 24 years has worked with multiple local and international Clearing and Forwarding companies. He was the Operations director with United Clearing Company Limited for past 18 years

Logistics Strategist & Trucking Consultant for East Africa
She joined us as our Logistics Strategist & Trucking Consultant for East Africa from 18th February 2019 and is in-charge of our Transport Logistics (own & sub-contracted) and as part of the senior Management team, is involved in business strategy and growth of the Company.
Ritu has a wealth of experience in Logistics and Trucking, having worked at Rongai Workshop & Transport Ltd for 32 years, starting in 1987 as the Accountant and then becoming an Executive Director in 2003 and finally as the CEO of the Company in 2015, a position she held up to 15th Feb 2019 when she stepped down from the executive role but continues to remain on the Board of Directors of Rongai in advisory position.
Ritu is well known in the Kenyan logistics fraternity and comes with multifaceted experience. She brings with her a lot of enthusiasm, a passion for trucking, high corporate governance values and principles, organizational & operational excellence and prides herself in providing customized service delivery to clients.
Chief Commercial Officer
Priyeen is the Chief Commercial Officer for GCS and has a vast working experience within the Shipping and Logistics Industry. This cutting-edge experience has given him upper hand as far as relationship building, maintenance and business growth is concerned. He has a keen interest in excellent customer service and pushing the business to deliver beyond expectation.
He has previously worked for companies such as Damco Logistics (part of A P Moller Maersk Group) and Mitchell Cotts Freight Kenya Ltd from 2011 to 2018. During this time, he has held roles within Strategy, Business Development, Procurement, Branding and general management.
Priyeen has direct contact with GCS clients and is keen on developing relationships and growing the business through building up commercial strategies and implementing them. He works hard to align all processes towards meeting the commercial objectives of the business. Being a people person, Priyeen successfully helps maintain a positive GCS brand and keep the clients happy.

Rashida Noordin Cutch
After several years in the banking industry she joined General Cargo Services Ltd in 1996. As a C&F Manager, Rashida is responsible for clearing and forwarding business working with customers ,shipping lines, port operations and KRA.
Having worked for over 23 years at General Cargo Services Ltd., she has interacted with all stake holders to ensure efficient operations with high level of customer satisfaction . Rashida was part of the team which achieved AEO status. We have large to medium customer base spanning all industries.
Her main responsibility and goal is to ensure that customers goods are cleared within the shortest possible time with least cost. Every customer is different and requires the highest level of service. Her experience over the years has helped her to resolve complex issues to ensure client satisfaction.
Operations Manager - Trucking
Abdulrazak Al Amin
Mr Abdulrazak Al Amin joined General Cargo Transport (a subsidiary of General Cargo Services) in 2009, as a Director in charge of Operations. The fleet had 15 trucks at the time, and he has managed to grow it to 53 long distance trucks.
He oversees all operations in the transport section including management of the drivers and their trips. His experience and expertise in managing the long distance transport has been instrumental in the running of the business as a whole. Mr Azaki is passionate and full of drive to see the business succeed and grow.
Head of Human Resource
Sheila joined General Cargo to lead the Human Resource function and support the business’s administrative function. She has experience in best practice human resource in recruitment and on-boarding, employee welfare management, compensation and benefits, and, brings in this experience to help grow the business’s people and help in achieving the main vision.
She has grown in the HR function from a Graduate Management Trainee to HR Officer at Jubilee Insurance Company of Kenya Ltd all through to her most recent role which was HR Business Partner at Seven Seas Technologies in Nairobi.
Other than helping to make the system run effectively, Sheila supports GCS’s business by ensuring that the clients are served by skilled, experienced and well taken care of labour force. She encourages the employees to be more than just a paid resource but a competitive edge for the business. She has been deliberate in trying to create strategic HR programs and systems to help achieve GCS goals and better serve the clients.
Head of Finance
Samson Njera Joined the finance Department of General Cargo Services Ltd in 1997 as an Accounts and has risen through the ranks to become the head of Finance.
He takes care of all the important financial functions of an organization, maintaining a far sightedness in order to ensure that the funds collected and are utilized in the most efficient manner, leading to Profitability, growth and goodwill of the firm.
His long service ensures stability in finance docket and linkages with the other departments
Delphine joined Velogic Kenya in January 2019 on expatriate status as accounting manager and is responsible for finance, accounting and administrative functions of the company.
Delphine ensures that the company’s activities are in compliance with tax requirements, company code of conduct, regulations and policies. Joining Velogic Mauritius in January 2014, she has worked in the Corporate and Reporting finance section and has acquired experience in group reporting and budgets.
Delphine is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting and advice, efficient management of treasury and cash flow of the company as well as control of company’s operations and assets. She also leads, coaches and develops the finance team to provide timely and accurate information and documents to GCS clients.
Accounts Receivables Officer
Beatrice Ndoro Kitsao
Betty has a deep knowledge of GCS clients and their specific requirements. She currently works in the Accounts Receivables department which is a critical role for the company cash flows.
Betty joined GCS 27 years ago, in May 1993. She has performed various roles starting with the C&F department where entries were still dealt in manually at that time, then moved to be the office general secretary being closely in touch with clients and suppliers and working closely with the director and then in 2005 joined the finance department where she continued to deepen her knowledge of the business going through invoicing, clients’ account queries and receivables section.
Betty now is responsible for timely collection of our monies from clients and also responds to clients’ queries when they arise and escalates them to the departments in charge. She performs a very important role where cash is important to keep the company afloat and also to ensure client satisfaction.
Nicholas has over 10years’ experience in Airfreight, Sea freight and transport with focus on consolidation, customs brokerage and project shipments.
He brings professional experience in international freight handling ,with strong skills in Airfreight business sea freight and transport. Over the last 13 years he has worked with multiple local clearing and forwarding firms (Mitchell cotts freight ltd and Urgent cargo handling ltd ) focused on Airfreight business development after working with various teams within the departments .
At GCS, Nicholas is responsible for handling Airfreight customers, knowing and understanding customer needs for consolidations of shipments , with the understanding of their lead time for urgent materials and spares. He also advises clients on new changes in the industry and required documentation for seamless clearance. His previous work with airfreight development is an added advantage in addition to resolving disputes in Government agencies, among them Customs and KEBS.
DANIEL NZUNGI MUTUA
Daniel Mutua has a wide experience in warehousing and distribution. He has been instrumental in our warehouse expansion plan. With his deep experience ,interpersonal and leadership skills, he has seen our warehousing business grown tremendously since he joined.
Over the last 10 years has worked with multiple local and international clearing and forwarding companies offering warehousing and distribution services. His expertise lies in successfully overseeing warehouse management in different companies like Damco logistics (Maersk Kenya), Smart Logistics, shipping and receiving, and logistical coordination while collaborating with multicultural, diverse staff to maximize productivity, efficiency, and overall performance.
Daniel spearheads the efficient receipt, dispatch and storage of goods besides being accountable for maintaining the safety, security of the workplace. He is also responsible for the day to day activity of running the inventory and warehouse operations ensuring that the inventory system is fully operational. His previous work with Imara Agro Kenya ltd as the country manager allows him to create competitive business strategies and develop business models that help our warehouse business scale new heights.
Geoffrey Wanjala Kwara
Geoffrey Wanjala Kwara is one of the longest serving employees in General Cargo Services Limited and has a vast knowledge in Shipping related matters as well as Port operations. He has been the brain behind the formation of Shipping as a department on its own to improve and enrich customer service not only in the Shipping section but also CFS related issues too. Geoffrey takes pride in professional experience in Shipping and Logistics field and he has worked with General Cargo Services for the past 16 years. For these years he main focus has been on Shipping and Cargo Clearance. James Maina Mundia
James has 16 years’ experience in customs brokerage services specifically clearing and forwarding services for imports. He brings hands on experience in clearing and forwarding services gained in the practice.
James is responsible for customs documentation specifically customs declaration of imports and also advising clients on customs issues and import procedures and requirements. He manages our documentation team and advises management and customers of any matters that arise and the best way forward.
EDWIN ONYIEGO GISEMBA
Edwin brings professional experience in transport and logistics with over 6 years’ experience in multiple local and regional firms in Supply Chain and Transport.
At General Cargo, Edwin is in charge of all transport related services to our clients across the country. He works with our internal drivers and other partner transporters to ensure that our clients’ needs are met in record time.
Omar joined General Cargo Transport (a subsidiary of General Cargo Services) in 2010, as the Workshop Supervisor, became Assistant Workshop Manager in 2012 and finally rose to the ranks of the Workshop Manager in 2016, a position he holds to-date.
He is responsible for the day to day, safe and efficient running of our Workshop and capably maintains our Fleet of 50 plus long distance trucks and Trailers as well as heavy lift machinery. He is also responsible for the purchase of spare parts and accessories, fittings and machine tools to ensure smooth workflow at the Workshop. He manages and inspires his team of mechanics and fitters by ‘walking the talk’. His expertise lies in heavy machinery fixing and he has kept our Top-loader and forklifts in good shape despite extraneous wear and tear they go through due to the nature of our work. Omar is a diligent and hardworking member of our team and performs his duties with passion
Transport Operations Manager
Hafidh started employment at General Cargo Transport (a subsidiary of General Cargo Services) in 2013, in the Workshop department and joined the Operations department in 2017, rising to the ranks of the Transport Operations Manager in 2019. He is based at our Mombasa office and is responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all Trucking requirements emanating from Mombasa operations of GCS. This includes daily liaison with GCS Nairobi transport team, managing Drivers, organizing schedules & routes, ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and making sure that drivers are aware of their duties as well as efficient turnaround of trucks within safe driving parameters
He is based at our Mombasa office and is responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all Trucking requirements emanating from Mombasa operations of GCS.
